| Customer Reviews: Another spot on Exam Cram title May 17, 2010 oohwha 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was able to "fill in the blanks" left by other training materials (videos) with this book. As usual, the Exam Cram series hits everything you NEED to know for the test without going over hundreds of pages of minutia and drivel you may or may not see on the test.
Memorizing a 500+ page MS press or Cisco press book has its merits yes... but when you rarely if ever use that entire batch of knowledge in real life scenarios and it's impossible for it to ALL be on the test, my feeling is learn what you need, pass the test, and keep doing a great job in the REAL WORLD on whatever projects and support tasks your employer assigns you.
This is a 5-star rating because I passed the test after only 8 hours spent doing the practices tests and exams at the end of the chapters and the end of the book, reading the book cover to cover, and then doing the practice tests again. And I'm a bit slow at reading comprehension so your results will vary and will most likely be better than mine :)
Thank you for reading this review and hopefully it positively influences your decision whether or not to purchase this book as you pursue your CCENT certification.
Not what it seems!!!! April 23, 2010 James C. Atherton Bought this book because of a review from one of their other books on another site. I used it and it did not contain near the content that you need to pass this certification. There is a summary of information that is supposedly important to know but very little of it was actually on the test.
