5 out of 5 stars Todd Lammle, you rock!   July 15, 2010

I'm sort of a newbie to networking and I used Todd Lammle's book to really help me sit down and prepare for my Network + exam. I just got back from the testing center about 1 + 1/2 hours ago and I scored an 807 out of 900!!!

What I liked best about Todd's book:

1) I enjoyed his writing style--practical, interesting, and entertaining.
2) I felt that the written labs and review questions at the end of each chapter really helped me remember the key, practical, daily-useful stuff.
3) I liked how the review questions are also on the CD. (I popped the CD in my laptop and studied that way a few days before I took the actual exam just to practice as if I were at the actual testing center.)
4) I've attempted to learn subnetting through other authors/teachers, but I think that Todd explains it the best. He makes it easy to understand and fun too! :-)

5 out of 5 stars Great Book.   June 21, 2010

The book is top notch for those studying for the Network+ Test. The author goes into great detail about not only the objectives expected for a candidate to know, but additional data for network engineers who are or will be working in a networked environment in the near future. The test engine and questions were very similar to what will be seen on the actual test, though I found the review process after every chapter test to be a bit tedious to go through. A better improvement would be to be able to review what you missed, not every dang question! Overall worth having in your library.

5 out of 5 stars More People Like Todd Lammle and Less People Like Glenn Beck!!!!!!   May 16, 2010

This book, combined with the power of the Internet, is the only thing you will need for even the least knowledgeable in this field. Beautifully mapped exam objectives to each area, is a sure fire way to cover the needed ground - but, if you know Comptia, you know they require more than just the objectives. This piece of literature has you covered.

I have purchased a couple of other popular books but none come in comparison to this Network+ masterpiece. I definitely feel that I got my money's worth.

The only thing I would have liked to see, no fault of the writer - is more Sybex tests. This is one thing I hear alot of feedback on considering for the real exam you have 90 minutes to complete 100 questions. If you want time to review your answers, you have to know your stuff and have your timing down to a "t".

Either way, this book = highly recommended. Buy it if your in the market.

5 out of 5 stars The Best Network Plus Book out there.   May 5, 2010

this is the best product I have seen on network plus and it is one of the few at this time that covers the new exam. I haven't found any typos in the transcript and I think only one test question error. That is VERY unusual for IT info. The illustrations are great and head and shoulders above others I have seen. For instance, cable connectors. I had studied cable connectors for the exam but found it confusing because the pics of the connectors were so poor...you don't have that kind of problem in Todd's book....just the opposite. It's a great book. nuff said.

Todd is a great (and engaging) teacher, and the software included
is a great help in preparing for the test, which I passed easily.
