Important Driver Installation:
If you get an error while Installing the Drivers press OK, then Exit. Then do the following:
Right-click on your CD Drive and select Explore
For Windows, double-Click on the application file in this folder (the file name atarts with "IS_AP_STA_RT2870......) then follow the installation instructions.
For Mac and Linux open their folder and then run the application.
Or you can got to the manufactures website, then click on "Support" and on the left side click on "Drivers" and download.

Works well but watch out for problems with security software August 31, 2010

We have a laptop that came with a shoddy wireless LAN card and bought this unit to improve our wireless network reception. Installation was easy, but our laptop refused to recognize the new adapter no matter what we did. After two days of reading forums, my husband finally found out our Zone Alarm security software was causing the problem. We had to uninstall Zone Alarm, install the Alfa adapter, then re-install Zone Alarm. After that, both the adapter and Zone Alarm worked fine. Just wish Alfa flagged security software as a potential problem in their installation instructions or website to save us two days of frustration.

Went back and forth with decision to purchase different manufacturer brands. Decided on the Alfa Long Range USB Adapter package (unit, holder, 5dbi antenna and an extra (9dbi) Antenna). Very satisfied. Pulls in signals better than the 802.11n card in my new Gateway laptop. This gives me a better internet response time, as the Public access spot I use is about 1 1/2 miles away (really). I use it every day I'm away from home. Very glad it came in a color other than Silver -mine is Green.
