Hi-Powered WiFi adapter July 27, 2010 Robert Branco This Alfa unit really pulls in the signal, but only if it is a G or N signal... so if you need a better connection and are talking G or N then this is the one for you. I am told that if you need to be able to tallk b/g/n then you need the 1k mw version. Easy to set up, then use it to get the current most updated driver from the company's website. Then sit back and enjoy!
an ok boost July 25, 2010 deathstar radio boost my wifi signal in my labtop by about 25 yards i thought i might get more out if it but didnt. i recommend it if you have a reachable wifi connection but only get one or zero bars and need an extra boost.
Booster July 24, 2010 botbe40 This works well, I travel a lot and it does boost incoming signal strength, but not a lot. Of course if there are weak signals near you, you'll only get a slight increase, but there is increase. Although you will see all sorts of connections, if you don't have their password, you won't have access, so you have the free wi-fi unsecured options to use. Unless your in a large city, you won't have all that many options.
I bought this from another company July 13, 2010 Billthedog (California) Buggy drivers, overheats, intermittent operation,
the "high gain" 13 inch antenna gives less signal
than the shorter one included in the package.
I replaced it with a Gsky 500mW USB wifi adaptor
that I bought from Amazon, MUCH better, stable, and
stronger signal, compact antenna.
very cheap not worth it ! July 11, 2010 Luis I bought this wifi-booster two weeks ago and it's very cheap, you will get signals but it breaks easily and you always have to be adjusting the antenna to get in range of the wifi signal. I truthfully don't recommend it it's throwing away $30.00 plus shipping and hanling.
