Fantastic! September 6, 2010 V. Gascon (South Carolina, USA) I bought three of these units for the three PCs in my home. The adapters are fantastic! My PC is at the far end of the house and the furthest from the hub. I am getting great performance compared to the previous interface I had (which went bad after about a three years). Where before I was getting a signal strength of 40-50%, now I get 70-80%. The ability to control the position of the antenna (which I did not have before) has been fabulous to optimize reception.
The WiFi card works perfectly with Windows 7 and Linux (PCLinuxOS and Ubuntu). You have to load the Windows drivers if you are installing in that OS, and it is recognized by Linux automatically.
Great product, especially at this price!
Worked fine on Win 7 64 bit September 3, 2010 This Thought Don (Wilmington, NC) I downloaded driver ahead of time and didn't give win 7 a chance to find it on its own. I like that the software gives detailed signal strength info to help with positioning (says 72% signal strength instead of "3 bars"). Picks up more networks than my dell laptop. Price is right
A surprisingly good USB WiFi Adapter September 3, 2010 D. Garrett (Meridian, MS) This USB WiFi adapter replaced a Linksys USB Adapter that was running very hot, only had 20% or less signal strength, and dropped the connection frequently. With this new adapter I am getting 90% signal strength and a rock solid connection. If you are looking for improved signal strength this is an easy purchase. If you are running Windows XP make sure you manually install the driver from the miniCD. Well worth the money!
Had to Buy Another Brand Adapter August 30, 2010 Kenneth E. Jeffery 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Unfortunately, this adapter lasted about 3 weeks before falling apart. The plastic around the electronics separates easily and makes it prone to being damaged. Otherwise, it did provide a decent stronger signal onto my laptop here at home.
Just purchased another make and hope that it will last longer.
Does not work with OS X 10.6.4 August 30, 2010 Infield Design (sf) I downloaded latest driver it shows the local networks fine, but bombs when I try and connect to the network. Almost but . . . fail.
