5 out of 5 stars Excellent and Cheap - Nice Refurb   July 27, 2010
B. D. Brault (Sacramento, CA)
I'm all about B-stock electronics, and this purchase was no different. I bought my WUSB600N from Electronic Direct via Amazon and it arrived as a version 2 model (Cisco-Linksys WUSB600N Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter) no less. It was shipped quickly with prime and arrived just as stated. I plugged it in and XP found it right away. I took the advice of other reviewers and let XP install the drivers from the provided CD. In less than 2 min I was up and running. Found my wireless network, entered the pass key and viola, I was connected to my Linksys G router. For $20 - $25 how can you go wrong. Great purchase and I can go to a N router now, whenever I feel like it.

5 out of 5 stars Works great for XP and newer OS   July 26, 2010

I have used this on XP, Vista and 7 and have had zero problems. Just don't use the supplied software, let windows manage the connection and use the drivers supplied, or download the program and just use the drivers.

4 out of 5 stars Believe it or not, it works   July 24, 2010

I purchased a refurbished one here a few weeks ago off amazon. I have to admit, I thought it was busted, I was about to return it. i plugged it into the back of my recently purchased desktop which was "just for school work", and I barely got any connection at all. Then i noticed there was a little USB wire caddy with it, so I pulled it out of the back of the desktop, placed the caddy on top of the caddy and low and behold, it works, getting my maxmimum connection speed!

Very excited I got this to work!

1 out of 5 stars BEWARE LINKSYS SALES OF THIS ADAPTER   July 13, 2010
Wm J. Milosh (Oxford, MA United States)
Along with new computers operating under Windows 7, I purchased a Linksys WRT610n router. The router is very fast - for a couple of days and then speeds drop off. I talked with support at Linksys and they told me the wireless adapters on two of my computers were "g" adapters and that's why speeds were dropping off. He then told me they had drastically discounted prices on USB n adapters - for today only - and talked me into buying two of them. He directed me to a page on their web site where the adapter was priced at $79.99. He sold me two at about $24 each. Then I got email confirmations of the sale that indicated the units were "refurbished". I never buy anything refurbished. But then I educated myself on the difference between g and n adapters and how to identify them and guess what - both my new computers already have n adapters. So the Linksys tech lied to me - plain and simple. Beware!

5 out of 5 stars Linksys WUSB600N-RM   June 19, 2010

This is usb dual band wireless adapter, rather larger than most usb flash drives. Comes with a few feet of usb cable and a stand, can just plug into usb port. Noted some have issues with the linksys software, so just plugged it in to 32 bit Windows 7 Home Premium Lenovo machine and waited, waited some more, nothing happened. Removed, put in the CD (after all they said to do that first and letting W7 install automatically or by adding network devices wouldn't work). 30 seconds later the driver was installed entered security code and it was up and running and running well. Much better network speed. little connection loss and I have not really played with repositioning the adapter, haven't even taken the twist tie off. Actually not quite as easy as the wireless N card that I installed on my older windows xp prof sp3 machine where all I did was plug it in and add security code, but still very easy and works well. Recommend use with a Cisco N router(valet plus, is what I have, like that too.)
I completely agree with other comments on refurbished merchandise of this sort- it makes no difference unless having a longer warrantee and paying much more helps you sleep at night, Items either work or they don't- you'll highly likely know well before 90 days so get the manufacturer's refurbished item and save the money for some other good use.
