5 out of 5 stars Liked the 1st One So Much, We Bought a Second...   September 1, 2010

This is our second Wireless USB wireless adapter. We use these on the second floor computers of a Bi-Level home with the Main Router being downstairs. Great price. No complaints.

4 out of 5 stars Works with windows 7   August 7, 2010

I bought this adapter because the first one recommended by D-link personnel didn't work with windows 7 - go figure!! Second person I talked to recommended the DWA-140 and it is working although I am not getting the signal strength I thought I would get. Not sure if the problem is the adapter, the router (also D-link), or just my home construction. I have a similar problem with cell phone coverage in my home, so I suspect it is the home. All in all I'm pleased with the DWA-140 and would recommend it for windows 7 users.

Was extremely happy when got it. Was working good for a while, but then it constantly loosing connection.
Either you have to restart PC or unplug and then plug the adapter back. Very annoying!

dont bother...please look else where. i purchased this usb wifi antenna in attempt to improve my reception from my woodworking shop about 50-75ft from our house where the router is located. i was under the impression this antenna would "boost" my wifi reception over the built in wifi card. i have a walmart basic toshiba satellite notebook that got decent reception..about 25% wifi reception usually..but wanted to get a stronger signal and reduce dropped signals. i purchased this since it was one of the few ones i could find that would work with windows 7. it installed fine with windows 7 32 i will have to say. now the key part...i get about 2-5% reception with this antenna vs the 25% i was getting with the built in notebook wifi card. its basically useless. if there is one plus is that you can mount it on the end of a 20ft usb extension cable and extend it to where the signal is strongest. so, doing some testing when i mount it on a 20ft usb cable and run it from the shop across the yard closer to the house i will get a 25-35% wifi reception. of course this is quite redneck and its not meant to stay outside but its a way that it might work for some people. one other note is that i used to have a HAWKING wifi antenna dish that i used with my old laptop that would not only pick up a very strong signal..70% wifi reception in my shop..but would pick up a number of near by neighbors signials quite strong as well. i have tried to install it on my new laptop but will not work with windows 7. i will be unloading this piece of crap on ebay shortly and look into getting a new dish from hawking that will work with windows 7. hope this helps someone out there
