Product Description The easy way to connect your desktop or notebook to a high-speed wireless networkConnect your USB-equipped desktop or notebook computer to a wireless network at incredible speeds with the Linksys Wireless-G USB Network Adapter. By incorporating two new, blazing fast technologies -- USB 2.0 and Wireless-G (802.11g) -- the Adapter delivers data rates up to 54Mbps (5 times as fast as 802.11b), without the trouble of opening up the case of your desktop computer. To install, simply plug the Adapter into any available USB port. (It's compatible with both USB 1.1 and 2.0 ports, but 2.0 will yield the fastest speeds.) It gets its power through the USB connection, so no power cord is necessary. The included Setup Wizard walks you through configuring the Adapter to your wireless network settings, step by step. The Wireless-G USB Network Adapter is also compatible with the Wireless-B (802.11b) network standard, with data rates up to 11Mbps. And your wireless communications can be protected by industrial-strength Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) encryption, so your data stays safe. The Wireless-G USB Network Adapter's high-gain antenna lets you put your computer almost anywhere in the building, without the cost and hassle of running cables. Now you don't have to drill holes in your walls and climb through the attic or cellar to get connected to the network. Once you're connected, you can keep in touch with your e-mail, access the Internet, use instant messaging to chat with friends, and share files and other resources such as printers and hard disk storage space with other computers on the network. So don't hassle with running cables through your house -- get connected the easy way with the Wireless-G USB Network Adapter. Connects your desktop or notebook to a wireless network at up to 54Mbps when used with a USB 2.0 portEasy, no-tools setup on any desktop or notebook computer with USB supportAlso compatible with Wireless-B networks (at 11Mbps)Wire

Wireless-G--Great purchase May 20, 2010 T. Neumeyer Item was delivered in condition as stated. Plugged in and worked with the WII instantly.
Horrible connection stability May 6, 2010 KCS (Mexico) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a simple adapter, most of the time it works as it should and gets the job done, but when you try to download something big like a 1GB file or load a web page with a LOT of images it will disconnect you from the Internet without a warning and you will not be able to reconnect unless you physically unplug the adapter and let it reconnect by itself, and this is a pain.
Fine Product April 22, 2010 After Dark (Brooklyn, NY USA) I bought this usb wireless adapter for my pc. The experience is great. The product run smooth since day one (2 month ago) until now. I have to admit that I have some experience with networking and I use my terminal to `clean' website only( ****.edu, gov, yahoo, msn, youtube ect). My system is always stable and run smoothly.
Ignore Install Wizard and then it's great March 6, 2010 Keith L. Kendrick (Albany, OR, USA) Used the install wizard of the Linksys CD, worked great until I rebooted machine and the Linksys program showed itself in the task bar, but would not work. Reinstalled a couple of times, and the same thing happened: Each time I shut down and started back up again, the software was there but dead. Using Win XP.

"Remove the Linksys Adapter and un-install the Linksys Software from Programs menu...To re-install the Drivers insert the Linksys Setup CD into your CD-ROM drive, When the Welcome screen appears click Exit, connect your USB adapter now...When the Hardware Update Wizard window appears, click Install the software automatically (Recommended) then click Next...Click Finish when the installation is complete...
NOTE: The Hardware Installation screen may appear indicating that the Adapter has not passed Windows Logo testing. Ignore the window and click Continue Anyway to proceed with the installation since the Adapter has been tested and found to work with Windows XP.When Windows has finished installing the driver, click Finish.
Click on Start and goto Control Panel and double click on Network Connections...Right click on Wireless Network Connection and select View Available Wireless Networks"- If you see your wireless network in the list, highlight it by 'single' clicking on it- Now click on the 'Connect' button below- If your wireless network is secured, it would ask you to provide the network key- Provide the wireless network key and confirm it again in the confirmation box and click "Connect".It should work..."
I didn't even have to go to the control panel and open Network Connections, it opened up automatically. Just then need to enter X2 the WPE key. Now it works great, great signal almost as good as my hardwired DSL modem.
So using the wizard install, would give it one star, using the above method would give the modem five stars once I got it working.
Amazing that the Linksys install didn't work after shutting down and windows XP did.
Hope this helps, Keith K. [...]
P.S. Even with the install problem, would buy it again. Now it should be easier for you if you have the same problem. Also have read that other install problems can be solved the same way. So basically, don't use the install wizard on the CD.
Works Great February 15, 2010 LordBuck! (Pennsylvania, USA) I replaced my kids' PC, and was surpised to find that the new PC does not have a PCI slot! So I was unable to use the internal wireless adapter that I used in the old PC. As it turns out, the signal strength is much better with this adapter, since it has a long cord, and you can move the antenna into a more favorable position. It was easy to install, and it has worked flawlessly.
