Not happy

My first Ira lasted a week. The replacement Myine sent me did not work at all. Myine admits that there are "issues" with the product. At this point, I give up. I want my money back.

5 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Solution   July 23, 2010

After more than a year of frustration with my HD-Radio solution (weak/fading FM-signal), which I bought to regain access to VPR-Classical after they went to HD, I was about to throw my entire sound system through the window. Just in time, I found the Myine WiFi radio Adapter, and now I have my classical music again.

The adapter is even smaller than the HD-receiver it replaced. Set up was fairly easy, the only difficulty being entry of the password for my wireless router. The tiny keypad on the remote requires you to scroll through letters to select for your password - one letter at a time - and if you have a strong password on your router this takes some time. If you don't have a password on your router, this is not an issue.

Things I like: Excellent sound quality through my stereo amp and speakers. Access to my public radio stations. Simple set-up (except for long password entries).

Things I wish for: The manual says you can set the clock to show when the unit is off, but there is no menu option for this. Also, I wish I could access my Pandora account from this device; some standalone WiFi radios offer this.

All-in-all, with just a couple days experience, I love it.

This little device is exactly what I needed! Took 5 minutes to have it up and running. Connected through my Denon sound system, these stations sound very good! I intentionally ordered this model because I did not desire to listen through a "pea-shooter" speaker system.

My WIFI router is in a downstairs room almost directly below where the radio receiver is, and I have a blistering good signal. In fact, I use the wifi with other devices without any effect on the sound or performance. Not sure why several reviewers have had difficulty in that area.

A great selection of stations (11,000 minimum I understand) is available. All the BBC radio stations are available, even BBC Radio 7, which is an internet and DAB (digital) broadcast only.

Having worked in broadcasting for 14 years of my adult life, this little unit is truly a pleasure. It does NOT support Pandora, or some of the other internet "music players," but that is no issue with me because it is not really radio anyway.

You can truly travel the world with this thing. I highly recommend it!

5 out of 5 stars great for downstairs use   July 17, 2010

I have owned this for several months. First, the customer care is great. I lost the remote control & they replaced it with no drama within the week.
The radio has worked flawlessly on a daily basis & the sound quality will, of course, be based on the quality of your speakers. I use $20 computer ones & they are fine for me.
My only concern is losing the remote control as there is no manual over-ride. Yet, that said, it is worth the money.

I love it. Intuitive and Easy to set up. I connected it to the AUX input of my Bose Wave to replace XM/Sirius satellite radio. The XM/Sirius did not get a steady signal indoors, but the Myine is strong and clear. Very good sound quality, and the volume buttons on the Myine remote work as well as the Bose's when I get a phone call an have to turn it down. Myine's customer service is really good. My remote did not totally work, and I sent Myine an email. Within an hour I was called (Christopher) and he immediately agreed to send me a replacement remote. It arrived in a padded envelope by mail within 2 days and works perfectly. The only feature that I miss is the display doesn't show the name of the song and musician. By me, its a strong product from a good company.
