4 out of 5 stars Works great   July 24, 2010

I bought this because our wireless card in our laptop works when it wants to. This was quick and easy to use. I even went outside and it worked great.

5 out of 5 stars Good Product for Good Price   July 22, 2010

Have this link and Verizon hot spot. Simpler to install than the hot spot. Picks up a lot of WiFi. No problems to date. Almost weightless, easy to transport in your pocket. Works well.

5 out of 5 stars Medialink - Wireless G USB Adapter - 802.11g - 54Mbps   July 9, 2010

First off, if your looking for the Blazing speed to stream HD video and Play online games with this, your looking at the wrong product. This Adapter is awesome, hands down, if all you want is a connection to the internet. I bought this so my Audio computer to could connect to the internet periodically whenever I needed to. Im getting around 18mbs/s tops, about 20 ft from my Linksys wireless G router, which also happens to be missing one of its antennas. It connects me to the internet, and i load pages pretty fast. I haven't tried downloading anything just yet as i just recieved it today, nor have i tried any videos or youtube, but I am typing this review using this very adapter to connect me to the internet. Im running windows xp pro sp3 and the drivers installed flawlessly, and it was up and running within 30 seconds. All in all, this prouduct is awesome for exactly what its advertised. It saved me a pci slot and gave me the internet. Buy it!

4 out of 5 stars Using with Win 7   July 8, 2010
FLAtRich (USA)
I just bought a new, rather high-end desktop with the 64-bit version of Win 7 and as I already have another desktop and a laptop I figured why not add the new one to my home network wirelessly. After reading a few reviews here at Amazon and checking with an online Win 7 manual at Microsoft, I decided to unpack the new PC and plug the Medialink device in before I even turned the new PC on. Bingo! Win 7 found the adapter and my Lynksys router and I was online (I have cable Internet, BTW.) Filled in my encryption details and for a week or so the Medialink device worked fine. I will add here that I live in a summer resort town all year round and in off months the population is about 1500. When the summer hits, it's more like 10,000. So the touristas arrived and suddenly the Medialink adapter started to fail. I'd lose my connection at different times of the day, other times it worked OK, but it wasn't at full strength any more. I started trying to track down the problem and noticed immediately that Win 7 was reporting a whole lot of new wireless activity in my area as well. As my new PC is in the same room as my router, I decided to see who was at fault (Win, the router or the adapter), unplugged the Medialink and ran a cable instead. No more failures. So my advice is this: if you live in an area where there is heavy wireless traffic outside your own network, this adapter may not be the best solution for a desktop PC. A card-based adapter with an antenna might be better. Otherwise, Medialink delivered as promised, so I'm still giving it 4 stars.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect   July 6, 2010
Mr. Picky
Plugged it in my PC running Windows 7 and it recognized it right away. I was online right away with no problems. Can't get better than that! Can't beat the price.
