1 out of 5 stars worst product ever   September 6, 2010

worst product ever; not only did it not work (even after 3 hrs with tech support) but they corrupted my computer. Not even 3 more hours with Microsoft tech support, could it be restored. A friend had the exact same experience!!

5 out of 5 stars great product - easy to install   September 3, 2010

4 out of 5 stars Works Well, Poorly Documented   August 27, 2010

Bought this to boost the signal for my Linksys WRT54G V5 router. Received the unit and realized that the cable was incompatible with the Linksys antenna attachment. Needed a RP-TNC to RP-SMA adapter - $10 from Amazon.com. With the adapter I had no problem setting it up and getting immediate results. Previously the signal at the farthest end of our house was at 25-30%. Now it's at 50-60%. Significant difference which adds performance and dependability to the link.

The reports of noise and heat are unfounded. I hear NO noise, and there are heat vents and it does not seem to generate significant heat. This may be a recent improvement, not sure. But these previously complained-about issues are no longer issues.

Unfortunately the manual is ridiculously bad - only describes attachment to a desktop Wifi receiver (why would you do that???). When I first saw the manual I panicked because I thought I bought the wrong device. Then I saw the pictures on the packaging and saw it can be attached to a router as well. Between this and the fact that there is no indication of potential cable incompatibilities with such a common router as the Linksys prevent me from giving the device 5 stars. There's also NO documentation on the Hawking web site on potential incompatibilities. Come on Hawking.... this horrible documentation must be driving up your call center calls!! Get with it!

4 out of 5 stars Great product, almost perfect   August 25, 2010
    Panther Shark (Miami, Fl)
As described by many, I immediately saw results, in a two bedroom townhouse, we were not getting good signals on the second floor. This product solved the problem without having to install software, get help or re-configure anything. We now get strong signal everywhere in the town home. Two things that don't make this experience perfect. 1) When I received the product, had to obtain an adapter that will work with our Lynksis router, I feel this should have come already with the product. 2) some described a pitchy noise. I obtained the same and when I realized that the product was close to computer speakers and adjusted, the noise went away. Great overall experience. Have had the product for 4 months now and we are enjoying the improved signal.

3 out of 5 stars Not as impressive as I hoped   July 26, 2010

Saw only a small improvement in signal stregth over basic antennae for Verizon supplied Actiontec router. Noise what not a problem
