Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster is really three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect Wireless-G, Wireless-B, and other performance-enhanced SpeedBooster devices to the network. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection. The Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster incorporates the next generation of Wireless-G (802.11g) networking. SpeedBooster technology is a compatible add-on to standard Wireless-G, which increases "real-world" wireless network performance by up to 35%. Unlike other speed-enhancing technologies, SpeedBooster is fully 802.11 compliant, and a "good neighbor" to other wireless devices and technologies, using a single 2.4GHz channel as specified by the official wireless standard. And, unlike other technologies, with SpeedBooster you'll see an overall speed improvement even when running a mixed network of SpeedBooster and regular Wireless-G devices.

5 out of 5 stars excellent router   November 16, 2008

this router is really user friendly to set up, it has a wizard that guides you through the entire configuration process. I like it pretty much

5 out of 5 stars Great wireless router for every skill level!   November 12, 2008
Jonathan Huckabay (Louisiana)
Pros: Simple, short and sweet! Setup out of the box was a breeze, I did follow the cd's instruction's and there were absolutely no hangups or problems! I added my server, 2 desktops and 3 laptops that float around. No matter where the laptops are at they always get good reception. I have a jump drive ready for my friends when they come over and want to surf the net, all they have to do is run the stub on my jumpdrive and ta-da they are on! I am pleased!

Cons: I cannot delete people off of my network once they get on there, sure I allow them to get on there but I want to delete some off of my overpopulated network. Also, there aren't any mounts on the physical product so that I can easily mount it on the wall behind my monitor, but that is just getting picky!

I used it to create a wireless network to connect an XBOX 360 and sat tv box to wireless network. Works great with very limited lag.

5 out of 5 stars Wireless Broadband Router   November 9, 2008

We had a different router and were unable to get a signal on the second floor of our house. Now with the Linksys WRTG54GS - coupled with a range expander - we get a strong signal throughout the house.

Linksys customer service was very helpful. The router was simple to set up. We had some issues getting it and the range expander to work together.

I recommend the router and Linksys.

4 out of 5 stars Linksys good value for the price   November 8, 2008
Peter Trzop (Bardstown, Kentucky)
After buying this product, it went bad along with other components within the first year. Linksys does have a solid program of replacing your broken product with refurbed product. Sending the product to Linksys is a cost to the buyer. The equipment is solid for the value, meaning, there is much better routers out there for more money. Another good product, while it worked, was the Linksys range extender. Like many of Linksys products, they are normally easy to install and hook up. The only issue is the poor, I mean really POOR customer service. When my system went down, I was on the phone for almost 6 hours on a Saturday. The key to Linksys support is to keep calling till you reach a tech who can help. This may take multiple hours and multiple techs. If you are lucky, you may get assigned a senior tech, lol. Also, while working with so many techs around the world, I passed the time by asking questions about their countries, culture, ideas, etc. While not really tech related, nor did it help to solve my issues with Linksys product failure, it did pass the time. I could see Linksys tech support helping a student with an international political science paper, or world religion report. I especially found the Irish office funny, while the Indian and Chinese offices very interactive on America and our culture.
